You may recall that I posted the results of a survey that I ran in Eastern Europe, which ranked their likelihood of using different digital channels in the next year...
Blogs, communities, search and email were the most popular, with mobile, viral, gaming and podcasting being the least popular.
Well, I recently repeated the activity for the same client in a global Live Net Meeting, with respondents from every continent. The people surveyed were all either audience marketing managers, product managers or digital evangelists in their respective countries, so were fairly experienced digital marketers. This is what they voted for:
Top: Communities, blogs, email, webcasts, influencing bloggers & viral
Bottom: Paid search, online advertising & mobile
I then ran 3 weekly Live meetings with the group, focusing on when to use each digital channel. At the end of the 3 sessions, their views had changed. The major changes were:
Highest jump up the list: Podcasting, viral & social networks
Highest jump down the list: Email
I am going to run the same survey with 70 people in mexico next week, so after that i'll update and combine the totals and see how that affects the results....
