Facebook has revamped their mobile offering. The headline news is that Places is no more, however this does not mean that location based marketing has been dropped.
Users will still be able to check in to locations and this will be enhanced, offering the ability to say where you have been in the past, now and where you are heading in the future.
Facebook deals will still be available and now appear in the newsfeed, but I suspect that the low take up rate has led them to doing this. After a little excitement around the launch, it is now very hard to find anyone actually using deals, which is a shame as I actually thought it was a really good offer.
