I am indebted to the wonderful Dave Chaffey for writing a really good explanation of Google's new +1 feature. Basically, it is Google's version of the Facebook "like" functionality. It is unclear the impact it will have, but is sure to influence Google's search algorythms and is therefore a very important development.
